Concordia is increasingly recognized for a big thinking approach to teaching and research that examines societal issues from a broad perspective. We are an open and engaged university that encourages its 46,000 students to become active, critical and concerned citizens. Recognizing that research drives big thinking, more than 7,000 students are enrolled in graduate studies, raising our community’s intellectual temperature and elevating its ambitions. Concordia offers more than 300 undergraduate and 200 graduate programs, diplomas and certificates, and maintains formal ties with over 100 institutions in 33 countries.
The Mobile Media Lab-Montreal (MML-MTL) is a vibrant centre for media production and theoretical reflection on geo-localized media and digital storytelling. Located in the Department of Communication Studies at Concordia University, the MML-MTL has become a hub for researchers interested in the topics of mobile media within the context of networked societies. Many of their projects investigate the relationship between story and place and explore how people might use new media technologies to forge a critical inquiry into these matters. MML brings together a unique configuration of expertise in art, design, engineering, new media, cultural theory, social science and policy studies.

MML-MTL will provide the art installation core software (original geo-locative technology) and contribute to the implementation of the Performigrations interactive/mobile platform; it will support/assist partners on its high tech components. It will supervise all web based collaborative activities in synergy with Athena RIC and LILEC. It will contribute content on digitelling and migration narratives. Also, it will co-host the Perfomigrations art-installation in Montreal (April 2016). In addition, it will contribute to the project internationalisation, dissemination and sustainability.
