Project Description

Participating City: Klagenfurt

According to the legend, the city of Klagenfurt capital of the federal state of Carinthia in Austria, was funded soon after the terrible winged dragon Lindwurm was killed by two brave men. Since then, the city bloomed on the moors adjoining the enchanting lake Worth, welcoming travellers from the nearby nations (Italy and Slovenia), and tourists from all over the world.

In May and July PERFORMIGRATIONS partners at the Institut fur Medien und KommuniKationswissenschaft, Alpen Adria University, will organise a series of seminars, lectures, street art events, screenings, readings in synergy with the “Lendhauer”, the Festival of German-Language Literature (Ingeborg Bachmann Prize), the Kunstraum Lakeside Art Gallery, and many more.

In Klagenfurt, artist Ioana Paun (Rumania), will present her project Natalia, Turn the Lights On, blending real life & pervasive media to give tangible expression to the dimension of an invisible reality: that of undocumented migrant bodies performing domestic work.
